One of the best ways to block your GTbank ATM card is with USSD. GTbank has provided many options for you to easily block your ATM card if it has been compromised in some way.
The GTbank USSD is a service that allows you to perform banking transactions like sending money, buying airtime, checking account balance and many more.
To block your GTbank ATM card with USSD, dial *737*51*73#, then enter the mobile number linked with account and finally enter your USSD PIN.
Once you complete this process, your ATM card will be blocked and cannot be used to perform any transaction.
How to block GTbank ATM card via SMS
Another way you can block your GTbank ATM card is via SMS, the process is very simple and straightforward.
Text HOTLIST (Account number) to 08076665555 and your ATM card will be blocked.
How to block GTbank ATM card via online banking
Another way to block your ATM card is via internet banking. You need to have previously registered for internet banking before you can access it.
If you have registered, login to the GTbank online banking portal with your username name and password.
- Click on the MENU button and select “Cards and cheques”
- Click on “Cards” from the left menu panel
- Click on “Card hotlist”
- Enter the correct card number
- State the reason for the card hotlisting
- Enter the preset security questions
- Click on continue
- Enter your token code
- Click on continue to complete the process
How to block your GTbank ATM card by calling card services
It is easy to block your ATM card by using GTbank’s card call service. You will only need to call the card services via their number depending on the loss of the card.
Call 01-4480000, 08039003900, or 0700GTConnect to request the deactivation of your ATM cards. This will take place almost immediately.
Other methods to block your GTBANK ATM card
You can also visit the nearest GTBANK bank branch to block your ATM card. Just walk straight to the customer service desk and request for ATM card blocking, and they will be happy to help you.
You can decide to request for a new ATM card if you believe the previous one is completely compromised or lost.
In other to be extra careful, you can also transfer the funds in the account to a different account, but if you have already blocked the ATM card, then there is no need for this.
