What is POS?

POS (point of sales) machine is a terminal that processes credit or debit cards and finalizes the transaction. The POS machine duties involves reading data of a client’s credit/debit card, transferring the money from the client’s account to the trader’s as well as recording the transaction details.

How to track POS transaction in Nigeria?

If you want to track POS transaction, you will need to get all the details of the transaction like the amount, the transaction date, the transaction time, transaction ID and every other necessary details of the transaction.

Once you do this, you will need to contact your debit card issuer i.e. your bank, you can do this by visiting the nearest bank branch.

You will have to explain the reason why you want to track the transaction and provide all the details listed earlier and request for them to investigate.

You should know that only your bank can successfully investigate the transaction, so the faster you contact them, the better.

If the issue is fraud related, then they will also block your ATM card i.e. if you have not already done this yourself, this is to prevent any further unauthorized transaction from going through.
