How long does it take First bank to reverse money?

When your experience a dispense error, it usually takes a few minutes for first bank to reverse your money. Sometimes, as soon as the money is debited from your account, you will also receive a corresponding reversal alert in just 4 to 10 minutes.

In some occasions, first bank will reverse your money anytime within a 24 hours’ period. If your money has not been reversed within a 24 hours’ period, you can then lodge a dispense error complaint.

After lodging the complaint, your money will be reversed back to your account in 48 hours at most, but there are rare occasions when it can take up to a period of 30 to 60 days for your money to be reversed.

This can usually happen if the money is a very large sum or if you did not lodge a complaint early enough for it to be resolved quickly.

How to get first bank to reverse your money?

To get first bank to reverse your money, you will need to report the dispense error via any of the following channels:

Via website

You will have to lodge a dispense error complaint by visiting the first bank website https://complaints.firstbanknigeria.com , select DISPENSE ERROR and input the required information like full name, account number, email address, phone number, card type, input the last 6 digits on the front of your card, the transaction amount, transaction date and more.

Once you do the above, you will have to wait 24 hours for your money to be reversed.

Via social media

You can contact the first bank social media channels to get your money reversed. You will need to provide the transaction details like amount, date, card type, account number etc.

You can get your money reversed by contacting the first bank customer care channels and providing them with the transaction details like amount, date, card type, account number etc.

Via bank branch

As a last resort, you can visit the nearest first bank branch and request for the dispense error form. On this form you will be asked to provide details like full name, account number, email address, phone number, card type, input the last 6 digits on the front of your card, the transaction amount, transaction date and more.

Once you have completely filled the form, submit it to the desk of the customer service and your money will be reversed in not more than 48 hours.
