The students account is very easy to open and does not require any amount of money to do so, and you can open an account by using your student ID card, admission letter or National Identity card.

This Nigerian student account is a tier 1 account and has such has limits placed on it i.e. the deposit limit and the operating balance limit.

About UnionVibe (Student/NYSC) account?

Union vibe is an account specially designed for young people. The account has zero account opening balance, but 1,000 naira is required before a debit card is issued.

Customers are entitled to a daily operating balance of as low as zero naira & a maximum cumulative balance of up to 500,000 naira.

Account available for youths without means of identification, which has a maximum daily deposit of 50,000 naira and a maximum cumulative balance of 300,000 naira.

While youth with any means of identification such as school ID, NYSC ID card can get a maximum daily deposit of 100,000 naira and a maximum cumulative balance of 500,000 naira.

The union bank student account has a limit of 300,000 naira maximum cumulative balance, i.e. if you opened the account without any means of identification.

If you provide any means of identification, you will have a maximum cumulative balance of 500,000 naira.

Requirements for opening Union student account?

The following are the requirements for opening a union bank student account:

  1. Account opening form duly completed
  2. One recent clear passport photography of signatory
  3. Temporary ID card issued by School or introductory letter from tertiary institution or non-student ID
  4. Newspaper publication plus marriage certificate or sworn affidavit (if account name differs from name on the ID)
  5. Bank verification number (BVN)

Walk into any UNION BANK branch and head to the customer service section and tell them that you want to upgrade your UNION BANK account.

You will be given a form to fill with information like your name, account number, bank verification number, home address, telephone number etc.

Make sure you fill the form correctly and submit, along with the required documents as requested by the staff.

The whole process should not take more than 24 hours or less to complete. Once it is complete, you can now receive any amount of money into your bank account.
